Artist Melissa Lofton was
born in Carmel, California and is the daughter of
Carmel artist Richard Lofton. Being raised in a
richly creative environment gave Melissa an early
familiarity with the artistic process and the use of
materials. She attended Santa Catalina School in
Monterey, University of California at Davis, and the
Monterey Institute of International Studies in
Monterey. A long-time resident of the Big Sur area,
Lofton maintains a studio at home in Big Sur as well
as one in Carmel Valley.
She became a member of the Carmel Art Association in
1998. Lofton's work reflects a deep love of nature.
She draws upon imagery from the Big Sur area, the
Monterey Peninsula, and from her travels. Many of
her images come from her meditation and dreams. A
self-confessed "chromophile", Lofton paints with
vibrant color and lively imagery

Miguel Dominguez was born in El Paso, Texas
in 1964.
When he was eight years old his family moved to the
Salinas
Valley.
Growing up in a rural setting fostered his
appreciation of open spaces, rolling hills and trees,
which he is still fond of portraying in his watercolors.
Pursuing his childhood love of drawing, he
studied art for two years at Hartnell Junior College,
before enrolling at Cal Poly in
San Luis Obispo.
Four months later he was drafted.
After his tour of duty, he married his high
school sweetheart and began work as a cartographer, a
job he enjoyed for five years.
In the meantime, he continued to practice his art
and eventually developed his own style of drybrush.
In 1971 he left his employment and began painting
full time.
His work is now widely acclaimed and collected by people
throughout the world.

Dave Sellars, wildlife painter, was on his way to
national notice before his thirtieth birthday, he was
honored as California Ducks Unlimited Artist of the
Year, California Waterfowl Association Artist of the
Year, Best of Show at the National Wildlife Art Show and
received seven additional best of show honors at premier
wildlife art shows across the country. His greatest
honor however was having his work accepted six times
into the prestigious “Birds in Art” exhibit at the Leigh
Yawkey Woodson Museum of Art. When first accepted, he
was the youngest American artist to be so honored. His
work has toured with the exhibit both nationally and
internationally and additionally, the museum has added
Dave’s work to their permanent collection.
In 1995, while traveling in Alaska and Canada, Dave
began painting on location outdoors. Although he had
previously done some outdoors oil painting, never had he
experienced the sense of affinity for the land as he did
during this period of immersion in outdoor painting.
Currently Dave’s work is exhibited in Galleries
throughout the United States.

Born in Omis, a town located to the south of Split in
Croatia, watercolorist Miho Simunovic was raised and
educated in Zagreb, Croatia. As a young boy, he visited
many times the town of Vela Luka on the island of
Korcula, where he was inspired to capture the delicate
sunlight and varied shades of the spectacular Dalmatian
coast. After graduating from art school in Zagreb,
Simunovic first worked as a graphic designer in an
advertising firm. In 1973, he moved to America and
worked as a graphic designer.
.
Impressions from his life and travels in the US, Sweden
and Croatia are captured in much of his work. While Miho
excels at interpreting the silent beauty of nature, he
often turns his talent to the bustle, activity and
ever-changing atmosphere of the city. Miho Simunovic has
displayed his paintings in many one-man shows throughout
California, Hawaii and Sweden. His work is present in
numerous private and corporate collections, in galleries
in California and Hawaii.
