ABOUT THE CARMEL BAY COMPANY
The Carmel Bay Company on Ocean Avenue in
Carmel-by-the-Sea, California began in 1972 as a shared
vision. My wife Patty and I, and our former partners
Howard and Courtney Brunn, wanted to create a home
furnishings store unlike any we had seen.
We scoured the globe and brought back Danish antiques,
British factory baskets and troves of other simple but
distinctive treasures. Before long the Carmel Bay
Company created something of a sensation.
Magazines featured us as one of the most original home
collection stores in the country. Locals, celebrities,
tourists, everyone it seems flocked through our doors
and still do seven days a week.
What’s our formula for success? No formula. Just a
commitment to providing great authentic home products
and having a lot of fun in the process.
From imported home accessories and fine European soaps
to our hand crafted furniture, today you’ll find the
same honest, enduring design that has been our signature
for over 35 years.
The Carmel Bay Company is located in the historic Seven
Arts Building, built in 1925 by Patty’s grandfather
Herbert Heron, one of Carmel’s early pioneers.
We hope you enjoy discovering our new website as much as
we did creating it and that it helps you keep in touch
with the special place that is Carmel-by-the-Sea.
